I just finished a book called Ghost Hunter, which is the last of the series The Chronicles of Ancient Darkness, by Michelle Paver. And I hope she writes mor books int he series, because i absolutely LOVED IT! This one, in particular is one of the best in my opinion. In the final chapter of Torak, a young boy, and his destiny to destroy the evil soul eaters, and fulfill a promise made to his father before he died, more and more secrets are unwound, and Torak almost dies. The tension and thrill of this book is what kept me in it, as well as the writing, the characters, and well, everything else about the book. I could never put it down! Ever! Torak and Renn, and RavenClan girl, become closer in friendship, as they work together to destroy Eostra, the final and worst of the Soul Eaters, which leads them to the Mountain of Ghosts.
Like I said above, I loved this book and the series. This is a praise for Michelle Paver! I really hope she writes more to this series! I would give this book a 10 out of 10, and would most certainly recommend it to anyone who likes a thrill read, and an exciting, fast paced adventure book, though I advise people NOT to read it before bed, because it gave my sister a nightmare.
It does sound kind of dark, but it’s really not that bad, just give it a try. Don’t judge a book by its cover and, what the hay, get your geek on, and read!

The book that I just read is a VERY good one, though at first I thought I wouldn’t like it. But I am so glad I kept reading it. This book is called The Hero and the Crown, by Robin McKinley. The book is about a young girl, named Aerin, who lives in her father’s kingdom of Damar. She is different from all others, because her mother was a witch from the North, which is feared by all Damrians. Most of her life, Aerin hides away, and doesn’t let herself be seen much, besides by the eyes of her father, best friend Tor, and maid Teka, and a horse Talat. She sneaks out to train the injured horse, and he becomes hers to ride. For her 18th birthday, Tor brings her a sword, with which she finds a very good use for – killing dragons. The little dragons are more like pests in Damar, but can still be deadly. After trying for years, she finally gets the right recipe for kenet, a fire-proof ointment, she goes to kill the dragons. But there is one more dragon that is even more deadly, called Maur. On top of Maur’s deadly awakening, the Hero’s Crown is missing, and it is the most valuable, and secret strength of Damar.
I really like this book, and though it is not my favorite book I have ever read, wow am I glad I read it, because it kept me mostly intrigued the whole time. The writing was well written, though in some parts I didn’t want certain things to happen. If I were to rate this book from 1 – 10, I would give it an 8. But over all, I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read about fantasy with dragons and dragon slaying, as well as adventure.

Another 9 weeks of school has started which means another Reading Challenge for me! I set the goal a bit higher this time, aiming for 1600. We’ll see how I do.
Anyway, I started out with a book called Fairest, by Gail Carson Levine. I really like the book, a total of 326 pages. The book is about a young and ugly girl in a world of prettier people and beautiful voices. Though she is ugly, she has the most beautiful voice. She works at her father’s inn and usually hides from the public, that is until she learns how to ‘illuse’ or make her voice come form different places. She also is invited to the King’s wedding, and upon arrival, she turns over a new leaf and finds a big adventure, a bit of love, and her real ancestors. I like this book because I think the author did a nice job, making it flow and not seem too confusing at all. This book might have inspired me to sing more in the shower….but sometimes I do that already.
Anyway, I would give this book a 9 out of 10. Great job Miss Levine! I would recommend this book more to girls, because it holds more girl interests. I was definitely glad I read this book!

My original goal was 1500 pages. Let me tell you, I passed that! I finished this reading challenge with – get ready – 2161 pages! I am so proud! Thanks to Michelle Paver and James Patterson, with their awesome books!
The last book I read was another of the Maximum Ride series, called Max, by James Patterson. In this book, Max and her flock finally have freedom of evil scientists and Erasers. But that freedom doesn’t last. Max is captured and escaped from a man named Mr. Chu, another evil scientist. Mr. Chu also captures Max’s mom, who Max immediately plans to save. It turns out, Max’s mom is being held in the ocean’s depths – where mysterious sea monsters are also dwelling…

Max!
I was fascinated by this book. I believe this is my favorite book ever! It is the most thrilling in the Maximum Ride series, in my opinion. Great job Mr. Patterson! This book is for early teens or people who love to read mystery, adventure, action, and a hint of romance and tension. I think that James Patterson achieved his purpose. He created an awesome book that kept me reading until the end! My overall response to this book was that it was very moving and inspiring. I recommend this book, because it is action packed, with a bit of drama. And everyone loves a little drama right?
Read on.

The fourth book of the Maximum Ride series has intense suspense! In this book, James Patterson has done a great job, once again! Max and Fang have brought the flock together again, and the six human avian-hybrids have found someone new to be an enemy with – known as the Urber Directer. He is pretty freaky, I must say, consisting of many clear, Plexiglas boxes holding organs. Repulsive, I know. Along with some more ‘magic’ between Max and Fang, Patterson, Max’s voice is still mysteriously telling her where to go, and leading her places she wouldn’t even have thought of going to. She found that she does actually have a mom – who she can now trust and count on.

Read it!- You know you want to...
There are many more details that I could tell you, but I think you want to find those yourself.
So read this book, along with the rest of the series! I love how James Patterson creates a tale that I am glued to every second! His writing is effective and moving, and I truly love it. My overall response to the book was that it was very inspiring. Many times I have caught myself pretending that I have wings myself. Coasting on my bike is not nearly as thrilling as actually flying, but it works for me. I would read this book if I were you, because it is thrilling, adventurous, and exciting. You will never out it down (until you finish it)!
