The beach is a place that I used to visit often when I lived in New Jersey. When I went there a lot, I noticed that some of the sand was ‘larger’ or more ‘pebbly’ than in other places. Most of the sand farther back was more rough and the sand closer to the surf was smoother. At some parts on the beach, I saw both large and small rocks on the shoreline, known as Sea cliffs. The erode over long periods of time, and smaller parts break off, eventually repeating making them get smaller. They become rocks and boulders, then are pebbles, like the ones I mentioned above. After that, they become the smooth-textured sand that most people are familiar with.

Not just any Science Teacher, but Muss Sweeney, my sixth grade Science teacher is leaving, and I will not see her anymore!
I will definitely miss her more than a “scosh”. (one of her words!!) She taught me many things, and I admire her sense of humor. Goodbye Miss Sweeney! From one of your little nosepickers! (long story)

Near the end of 6th grade, this trip to Starkey Park, a national park in Indiana, was a very action packed one indeed. What did I do? Waded through the water! (The best feild trip I have ever been on!) On top of measuring speed and turbidity, I saw a toad named George, minnows, (two of my favorite – Fred and Walter) and explored through the waters in a creek in Starkey Park. Fun huh? Yes, it was. Thank you Miss. Sweeney! I had a fun time and learned a lot.

In Science class, we are testing which brand of adhesive bandages, either CURAD, BAND-AID or NEXCRAE can absorb the most liquid. My group, (Alysa and Maggie) are giving a survey to people we know, to see what they think about a particular brand. That way we will be able to get more information for the “ad project” we will be creating. If you want to take this survey, then click on this link: Adhesive Bandages Survey
Also, if you are wondering about my partners’ blogs, here they are: Maggie’s Blog and Alysa’s Blog
Which brand of bandages do you like?

Here is a reading survey. In science, I did an experiment to find out which group of sixth graders would read faster. I thought you might like to see the results! So here is A Reading Survey!
My friend Maggie, (she’s linked to my blog!) has these graphs too-maybe you’ll like how she organized them better. . . .
