A Vision of Peace
Recently, my art teacher assigned a peace poster project. When I think of peace, of think of everyone from around the world coming together, in peace. The posters were judged and the top 15 were picked. Those artists moved on – I was one of them.
I was so excited when I found out! The posters were voted on the top 5. I soon found out I had moved on again. On an evening in September, I attended a Lions Club meeting, along with the other 5 artists that had moved on. We said a word or so on our artwork, describing our vision of peace. Then they announced 5th place. Then 4th. And 3rd. And 2nd. I was the only one left. I had won 1st place!
I left that night with a smile on my face. I couldn’t stop smiling. It was funny, because everyone kept congratulating my twin sister, who was also there.
Everyone has a vision of peace. Most people wish the world could be completely peaceful. I really enjoyed the peace poster project, not just because I came in 1st place, but because I had so much fun making it happen. I love to draw, color, paint – I love art! I am a doodler too, especially on math homework. I am so glad I received the opportunity to participate in creating a peace poster, as well as participate in the contest. It was fun to see everyone’s idea of a vision of peace.
